Welcome, Back!

Wow! It's been quite a while since I've last blogged and so much as happened!

To sum it up, Shaun and I are now engaged, we've just bought a house (well providing our loan is approved, which is more than likely to), I'm still working at Sanity and now I've finally decided the career path I want to pursue! It's only taken three years since year 12, but I'm glad I'm finally here; I've learnt quite a bit along the way so I'm content it's taken this long.

I've just started doing an external journalism degree so I get sent textbooks and a bunch of how-to techniques for journalism and get given assignments. I have a tutor I email back and forth with questions and he is the one who will mark all my work. I feel very lucky I came across this course, as it has a university equivalency and it is aimed at stay at home parents or people who work full time so I can learn at my own pace, which I love. Especially of late, things are hectic with engagement planning, wedding planning, work coming up to the busy Christmas period so trying to fill in study becomes slightly overwhelming! There are 12 learning modules and it would take about a month to do one so the course can be done in one year but thankfully, students are able to complete it withing five years, so there's no pressure to rush. The biggest praise point, it doesn't cost a fortune! Which is always handy, right =)

I was looking back at some old blogs and I've deleted a few as, although they were reminders of how I got to where I am now, I just felt that I didn't need them there anymore as I've moved on from that place. I'm absolutely not a hoarder so I'm always throwing away things I consider that I don't need anymore. Old letters written by friends from middle and high school I threw away without a second thought, when most people would keep them for sentiment. It would be nice to have them but I wouldn't really read them so, throw away! Now that I think about it, Shaun's a hoarder. For example, when his parents moved house, they asked me to pack up his room as they knew he would keep things he really didn't need anymore. So, that's what I did. When he saw his Pokemon cards and gorilla mask in the bin, his expression made me feel that I threw away a winning lottery ticket or something. I asked him patiently, why he needed his game cards from primary school when he's quite a bit too old to battle his friends and what he would use the gorilla mask for. He defended both items and I let him keep them. However, we're planning to be married next year and as it will be then "my house" too, I can secretly throw them away =)
